the Navy Vets battled back to tie the game late only to lose a 3-2 heartbreaker to Tavistock on a deflection in the last minute of regulation ...

The Braves now lead the Doherty Division SF series 2-0 ...

after a scoreless 1st period Tavistock got 2 quick goals within 30 seconds early in the 2nd period to open up a lead ...

however late in the middle frame the Vets hottest scorer Max Racicot got his 4th goal in the last 3 games to close the lead to 2-1 heading into the 3rd period ...

after some great play by both goalies in the 3rd period the Vets captain Kyle Walker tied it with just over 5 minutes to play ...

and the game look headed for overtime until Drew Gerth got his stick on a point shot with 28 seconds left to give the Braves the victory ...

Keaghan Brett made 26 saves for the Vets while they pummeled Tavistock goalie Carter Roth with 52 shots ...

Game #3 in the series goes in Tavistock on Monday night at 8pm with Game #4 back at Southwood Arena on Tuesday night ...

the Navy Vets played a great game but came up short as they fell 2-0 to the Braves in Tavistock on Monday night in Game #3 of their PJHL Doherty SF series ...

they now face elimination on Tuesday night at Southwood Arena in Game #4 as Tavistock leads the series 3-0 ...

after a scoreless 1st period the Braves scored twice late in the 2nd period on 2 different powerplays and were able to hold off the Vets the rest of the way ...

Keaghan Brett made 41 saves in the Vets net ...

Game #4

when Navy Vets overage captain Kyle Walker scored with 58 seconds left, and their goalie on the bench for an extra attacker, to tie the game the fans at Southwood on Tuesday night erupted !!!

but in a crushing turn of events Tavistock defenceman Thomas Haffner scored on a point shot with just 16 seconds left to give the Braves a 4-3 victory in Game #4 of their PJHL-Doherty Division SF thus eliminating the Vets in 4 games to finish their season ...

the Braves now advance to their 3rd straight Division Championship Series against the winner of the other SF series between Wellesley and Ayr that the Applejacks currently lead 3-2 ...

overage defenceman Noah Burns opened the scoring for the Vets early in the game ... after Tavistock tied it midway thru the period Walker scored his 1st goal of the game late in the period to give the Vets a 2-1 lead heading into the 2nd period ...

Tavistock tied the game in the 2nd period and the game headed to the final period tied 2-2 ...

the Braves went ahead midway thru the 3rd period ... that set up the final minute wild finish ...

the 3 Navy Vet overagers spear-headed the team's battle throughout the game ... Walker with 2 goals , Burns with the other , and defenceman Chris Thompson setting up the 2nd goal ... unfortunately the other overager All-Star defenceman Reade MacInnis missed the entire playoffs after breaking his foot blocking a shot in the 2nd to last regular season game ironically against these same Tavistock Braves ...

the estimated 435 fans on Tuesday night put the Vets attendance over the 14000 mark for the season for the 2nd time in 3 seasons ...
