2019 Alzheimers Awareness Night
January is Alzheimer's Awareness Month ! The Woodstock Navy Vets are proud to support our local Alzheimers Society, and some of our players will be walking in the Alzheimer Walk on January 26th. If you would like to make a pledge or make a donation toward the players' group donation, please see the Alzheimers Table up on the concourse during Friday night's game - there will be jars for each player doing the walk that fans can donate money for sponsorship !! All money from our fans will stay in Oxford. Thank you for your support.
Your donation will directly benefit the 747,000 Canadians with dementia, as well as their caregivers and families by supporting local programs and services that work to effectively alleviate the personal and social consequences of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias within OUR community.
Let’s eliminate the stigma around Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia starting right now during Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. It begins with understanding and education. Read real life experiences from people like Jane, who is a caregiver for her mother and Keith, who was diagnosed with young onIset dementia and overcame his own stigma around the disease.
