the Navy Vets lost a close Quarterfinals series opener to Paris 2-1 at Southwood Arena on Friday night ...

it was a battle of goaltenders ... Justin Hergott made 42 saves for the Mounties and was the star of the game while Keaghan Brett made 26 saves for the Vets including a couple of breakaways plus a penatly shot to keep the Vets close ...

Paris opened the scoring late in the 1st period after Hergott made many key saves on the Vets who dominated the period but couldn't score ...

after a scoreless 2nd period Jacob Rooke tied it for the Vets just 9 seconds into the 3rd ...

however Paris regained the lead just 2 1/2 minutes later and held on the rest of the way with Hergott shutting the door on the Vets for the victory ...

Game#2 goes on Saturday night in Paris at the Brant Sports Complex @ 7:20 pm ...

the Navy Vets came out strong and continued that play throughout the game as they won Game #2 in Paris on Saturday night 5-3 ...

Kyle Walker started and ended the scoring for the Vets ... Reid Campbell, Tom McFarlane, and Chris Thompson scored the others ...

Keaghan Brett had his 2nd straight strong performance making 39 saves in the Vets net ...

the Navy Vets got a big 5-1 win at Southwood Arena on Friday night over the Paris Mounties to take a 2-1 lead in their PJHL-Doherty Division QF series ...

Kurtis Christo led the attack with 2 goals ... Chris Thompson, Drew Woods, and Noah Kirk scored the other goals ...

Keaghan Brett made 36 saves in the victory ...

it was Minor Hockey NIght and with Little Caesars sponsoring the game and having lots of giveaways the crowd was close to 900 to push the Vets over the 10,000 fans mark for the season (reg.season & playoffs) ... this is the 5th time in 6 seasons our attendance has reached that plateau !!!

the Navy Vets organization wants to thank the City of Woodstock and the surrounding County of Oxford for your tremendous support again this season !!!

the host Paris Mounties scored just over 11 minutes into overtime for a 2-1 victory over the Navy Vets on Sunday night and evened their QF series 2-2 ...

Chris Thompson scored the Vets goal ...

Keaghan Brett made 44 saves in the Vets net ...

Game#5 goes tomorrow afternoon for a Family Day matinee at Southwood Arena ... game time is 1:45pm ...

Game #5

Noah Kirk scored with just under 4 minutes left in the 3rd period on a shot from the point to break a 2-2 tie and give the Navy Vets a 3-2 victory over the Paris Mounties in Game#5 of their PJHL Doherty QF series at Southwood Arena on Monday afternoon Family Day before over 1100 fans !!!

Kurtis Christo and Nick Billeci had given the Vets a 2-0 lead early in the 1st period but Paris came back to tie the game with 2 goals of their own in the late part of that 1st period  ...

a scoreless 2nd period and first half of the 3rd period because of big saves by both goalies set the stage for Kirk's late heroics ...

Keaghan Brett made 28 saves in the win ...

the Navy Vets will look to advance to the SF for the 2nd time in 3 seasons when they travel to Paris on Thursday night for Game#6 at Brant Sports Complex with a puck drop time of 7pm ...

the Paris Mounties beat the Navy Vets 5-3 at Brant Sports Complex on Thursday night to even their PJHL Doherty QF series at 3-3 and force Game #7 on Saturday night at Southwood Arena @ 7:45pm ...

the Vets jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the 1st period on 2 goals by Eric Tuori ... the Mounties scored 3 early in the 2nd period to take the lead but Reid Campbell tied it again for the Vets midway thru the period ... however a late 2nd period shorthanded goal by Paris forward Kyle Brezinski regained the lead for the Mounties and proved to be the winner ... Brezinski scored again late in the 3rd period to seal the victory ...

Keaghan Brett made 41 saves in the loss ...

this will be the 4th Game#7 the Navy Vets have played in since 2000 ... and the 1st at Southwood Arena ... they have lost 2 of the past 3 games including the last one against these same Paris Mounties in Paris in 2015 ...

What a barn-burner Game #7 on Saturday night at Southwood Arena !!!

The more than 1500 fans were treated to an exciting nail-biting battle in the winner-take-all final game of what was a terrific PJHL Doherty Division QF series ...

Max Racicot scored his 2nd goal of the game on a shorthanded breakaway with just over 2 minutes left to give the Navy Vets a 3-2 win over the Paris Mounties to win the series ..

Nick Billeci scored the first Navy Vets goal ..

Keaghan Brett made 27 saves in the win ...

the Vets now face Highway 59 rival Tavistock Braves in the Semifinals ... the Braves are the regular season pennant winners and #1 seed in the playoffs and will have home-ice advantage in the series ...

the series schedule has yet to be announced ...

the same 2 teams met 2 years ago in the 2018 Semifinals ... Tavistock swept that series 4-0 on their way to the Doherty Division Championship ...
