Navy Vets eliminated by Paris

The Paris Mounties were firing on all cylinders against the Woodstock Navy Vets, and when the final buzzer sounded Mounties emerged with a 4-1 win.

 

The win by Paris clinched the best of seven series at 4-2.

The Mounties were led by goalie Hayden Padalino, who finished with 29 saves while allowing one goal. Padalino managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.95 prior to the game.

Paris pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 24 penalty minutes.

The Mounties were helped by Graham Evans, who racked up one goal. Evans scored 23 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Paris. Paris also got a goal from Mikael Ruffini as well. More assists for Paris came via Richard Brooks, Ryan Stephenson, and Cole Corriveau, who each chipped in one.

Woodstock was led by Dylan Wettlaufer, who scored the team's only goal. Wettlaufer scored on the power play 19:49 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Paris. The Navy Vets had gained a power play chance when Connor Purbrick was whistled for tripping. Chris Thompson assisted on the tally.

Paris registered one goal on zero power play opportunities. North Davies rejected 26 shots on goal for Woodstock. The Navy Vets totaled seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play. For Woodstock, Jake Schneider was ejected from the game.
